So there are exactly five weeks until I move into college, and the question I hear more than anything is, "Are you excited?" And if you ask me this, I will say, "Yeah! I'm a little scared, but I'm also really excited!" And that's the short answer of the truth. If you want the long answer, here it is:
Of course I'm excited. In five short weeks I will be standing in my college dorm. I'll be meeting my roommates. Throughout those weeks, I'll get more and more mail with information about possible majors and moving in and getting involved.
And I have never been so excited in my life.
But I'm also a little terrified. I'll be leaving my mom and brother. And yeah, I've gone to camps. Week-long camps. In Washington. I'll be surrounded by new people and I'm honestly a little scared about that. I'm so used to posting my schedule on Facebook and knowing my best friends will be sitting next to me.
And it's scary.
I know I'll be okay. I know everyone else will be feeling the same way. So it's a little comforting. And most days I love looking at back to school stuff and planning what I still need to buy, but sometimes I just cry.
College will be an adventure, and yes, I'm excited. I'm a little scared, but I'm also really excited.
